Ok, saya beri judulnya demikian karena inilah satu-satunya produk Suzuki yang dinamai dengan bahasa Indonesia. Selebihnya, line up “satu perguruannya” dinamakan dengan nama-nama yang berbau budaya bangsa lain, mulai dari Tornado GS, Tornado GX, Shogun, Arashi, Skywave, Smash, Tunder dan sebagainya. Bahkan hingga sekarangpun SATRIA lah satu-satunya produk Suzuki yang masih memegang kearifan lokal budaya bangsa Indonesia.

Ketertarikan saya tidak berhenti sampai di situ, kearifan lokal yang disuguhkan Suzuki di sini ternyata tidak sekedar sebutan semata. Suzuki membekali Sang Kesatria dengan ajian-ajian mandraguna yang menyebabkan dia menjadi bebek sakti mandragate!!
Menurut subjektif saya, Suzuki adalah produsen roda dua di Indonesia yang mampu menelurkan bebek-bebek paling keren sejagad raya. Di antara sekian banyak klan bebek saktinya, SUZUKI SATRIA lah yang paling memikat hati saya.

Sewaktu SMA, pernah terlontar niat saya, mengajukan proposal kepada “gaek” saya (red: orang tua) untuk membelikan saya motor bebek high performance ini. Tapi dikarenakan alasan bensin-nya yang sangat boros akhirnya niat itupun dilontarkan orangtua saya jauh-jauh dari mimpi dan angan-angan saya (dilontarin pake pelontar roket sampe ke bulan). Nasib..nasib..Hehe..

Sebagai gantinya, saya memperoleh Yamaha Jupiter Z. Not Bad sih, tapi untuk speed, motor ini harus bertekuk-lutut di bawah kedigjayaan Suzuki Satria (minjem kata2 teman saya : notabenenya 2 motor ini memang tidak bisa dibandingkan secara apple to apple)

Kembali ke Satria..
Setelah sempat berevolusi dari bodi yang agak mengkotak menjadi mode serba lengkung pada Satria L “Satria Agresif”, pihak Suzuki akhirnya melakukan restorasi besar-besaran terhadap kekaisaran Satria..(lebih tepat di Indonesia kalo disebut padepokan ke-Satria)
Satria yang tadi 2 tak di transform jadi 4 tak, Satria yang tadi bebek dikutuk jadi ayam jago. Meski saya tidak bisa mengatakan Satria baru ini lebih jago dari moyangnya, tetapi tuntutan jaman yang mengarah pada budaya peduli lingkungan mau gak mau harus memaksa Suzuki berinovasi tiada henti menciptakan motor bebek yang perkasa namun tetap ramah lingkungan (FYI slogan Suzuki sekarang: ride the winds of change)
